The QR code glossary

A static QR encodes the information directly (a URL, a text): to change it, you have to regenerate and reprint the code. A dynamic QR encodes an intermediate address you control: you change the destination at will, and the printed code stays valid for life. That's what lets you reuse a material without reprinting it.

A static QR never expires as an image, but its destination can become stale (deleted page). A dynamic QR stays valid as long as the service handling the redirect is active. At QRyx, a printed slug is built to last: the code you print today keeps working, you only change its destination.

Many QR tools use auto-renewing subscriptions, sometimes opaque, that renew automatically and are hard to cancel. It's one of the sector's most common complaints.
