Create a menu QR code in 3 minutes

⏱️ 3 min read · Updated on 14/06/2026

Want a QR code on your tables that opens your menu — one you can edit without reprinting everything? Here is how to do it, step by step, in under three minutes.

Step by step

  1. 1

Create your account and a “dynamic” QR

Open an account (14-day trial, no credit card) and create a dynamic QR code: that's what lets you change the destination later without reprinting the code.

  2. 2

    Point it to your menu

Enter your menu's address: your website, a PDF, or a “Menu” page hosted by QRyx (sections, dishes, prices, currency). Customize the colors to match your brand if you like.

  3. 3

    Check scannability, then print

Run the scannability test (contrast + real decoding) to avoid an unreadable QR, download it in high definition (PNG/SVG) and place it on your tables, placemats or windows.

Why a “dynamic” QR rather than a static one?

A static QR encodes the address directly: if your menu changes URL, the code stops working and you have to reprint it. A dynamic QR points to an intermediate address you control: you change the destination at will, and the printed code stays valid for life.

Mistakes to avoid

Don't shrink the QR too much when printing (keep a white margin around it), avoid too little contrast (light text on a light background), and prefer a fast mobile page over a heavy, slow-loading PDF. The scannability test warns you before you print.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to reprint the QR when I change my menu? +

No, if you use a dynamic QR: the code stays the same, you only change the page it points to from your dashboard.

Do I need an app to scan? +

No. The native camera of recent smartphones (iPhone and Android) reads QR codes and opens the page directly.

Can I have a different menu at lunch and in the evening? +

Yes: manually at any time, or automatically with the Pro plan's time-based rules (same QR, lunch/evening menu depending on the time).
