Create a WiFi QR code

⏱️ 2 min read · Updated on 14/06/2026

No more dictating the WiFi password ten times a day. Here is how to generate a QR code your visitors scan to connect to the network automatically.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Enter your network

Provide the network name (SSID), the security type (WPA/WPA2) and the password. Prefer your “guest” network to keep access separate.

  2. 2

    Download the QR

Get the QR code in high definition (PNG, SVG) and check its scannability before printing it.

  3. 3

    Display it

Place it on a stand, a poster or your window. Your customers point their camera and accept the connection.

Static or dynamic?

A static WiFi QR encodes the key directly: if you change the password, you have to regenerate and reprint it. For a password that changes often, point a dynamic QR to a welcome page explaining the connection instead.

Frequently asked questions

Does the WiFi QR code work on iPhone and Android? +

Yes. Recent devices read WiFi QR codes with the native camera and offer to join the network automatically.

Is it safe to display a WiFi QR? +

The QR contains the same information you would give out loud. Display it for your guest network rather than your internal network.
